For their 13th hitch of the season, the TPA Trail Crew worked with the BLM Royal Gorge Field Office at Texas Creek to address trail damage, perform tread work, routine maintenance, and help with an enduro race event.
Hitch dates: 10/8-10/15
HIGHLIGHTS:
● Collaborated on site with the CPW Regional Trail Coordinator and fixed trail drainage issues, cleared corridors, and removed rocks from trails.
● Filled the BLM staffing gap for the Texas Creek permitted race event. Typically, BLM OHV Crew members would have been on site for this event, but the BLM was on shutdown. We were able to assist with course prep and post-race course damage repair, as well as supplementing the EMT position when they had trouble getting to the race course staging spot.
● Made public contacts to provide information about the Trails Preservation Alliance and CPW OHV grant program.
