First Annual Colorado Cow Tag Event
Join Klim, the TPA and Megs Braap for an unforgettable event in Taylor Park, Colorado
Set against the rugged beauty of Taylor Park, Colorado, at the Taylor Park Trading Post, the first annual KLIM and Trails Preservation Alliance Colorado Cow Tag Event rolls out July 17–19, 2026, blending high-country adventure with a deep respect for the trails that make it all possible. This inaugural gathering brings together riders, advocates, and outdoor enthusiasts for a weekend of epic alpine riding, wide-open scenery, and community-driven fun—all in support of preserving responsible motorized access to public lands. With KLIM’s commitment to performance and protection paired with TPA’s boots-on-the-ground trail stewardship, the Cow Tag Event celebrates the spirit of the West: hard-earned miles, dusty boots, good stories around camp, and a shared mission to keep trails open for generations to come.
For $249 ($144.50 is tax deductible), you get a full weekend experience that includes two nights of dry camping (tents, RVs, campers, vans, cars - porta potties will be on site but no public shower facilities), three hearty meals, a chance to win over $7000 in door prizes, and live band entertainment on Saturday night. Proceeds from the event directly support the Trails Preservation Alliance and its ongoing work to protect, maintain, and defend responsible motorized access to public lands for generations to come. Don’t miss this opportunity as spots are limited. Bring yourself, bring your friends, but most importantly, bring your respect for the trails we all love. We will see you in Taylor Park, CO this July!
NEW! We are excited to now offer a Meals & Entertainment ticket for the Cow Tag event- perfect for spouses, friends, or anyone who wants to be part of the fun without tackling the riding portion (available to purchase at checkout). This ticket is $99 per person and includes three meals over the course of the weekend, plus full access to all the entertainment and social activities that make Cow Tag more than just a ride. It’s an easy way to join the community, enjoy the atmosphere, and be part of the experience - no helmet required. *Meals & Entertainment ticket holders will not receive riding access OR tickets for prizes.
How Cow Tagging Works
Think of the TP Cow Tag as a giant motorcycle scavenger hunt built around teamwork, adventure, and giving back to the trails we all enjoy.
Build Your Team
Nobody rides alone at the TP Cow Tag.
Teams consist of 3–6 riders. Bring your own group or come solo—we'll help pair you up with other riders during check-in.
The event is designed around teamwork, so all tags are earned as a team:
- Your team must ride together to collect tags.
- Tag photos must include either all team members or all of the team's motorcycles.
- The entire team must participate in the same trail work session.
- Teams can choose their own routes and pace throughout the event.
Whether you're chasing every tag or simply enjoying a weekend with friends, the best adventures are shared.
Collecting Tags
Prior to the event, all riders will receive a GPX file containing dozens of cow tag locations that can be loaded into the GPS navigation app of your choice.
When your team arrives at a tag:
- Take a photo of the tag.
- Make sure the photo includes your entire team or all of your team's motorcycles.
- Provide proof that you were at the location by either:
- Taking a screenshot showing your location in your GPS app, or
- Submitting your GPS track at the end of the event.
Each verified tag earns points and raffle tickets. The more tags your team collects, the more chances you'll have to win great prizes.
The TPA Trail Work Tag – Worth 10 Points!
The most valuable tag in the game isn't hidden on a mountain—it's earned by giving back.
Four two-hour trail work sessions will be offered throughout the event. During each session, teams will work on one of three projects led by Greg Hamilton, Alex Banas, or James Flatten.
To earn the Trail Work Tag:
- Sign up for one of the available time slots.
- Plan your ride schedule accordingly.
- Your entire team must participate.
- Complete the two-hour work session.
This special tag is worth 10 points, making it the most valuable tag available and a reflection of what the Trails Preservation Alliance is all about.
Bonus Tags
Not all tags are location based. Throughout the event there will be additional opportunities to earn points and raffle tickets through bonus challenges, including:
- Lunch receipts
- Store receipts
- Special bonus tags
Ride Your Own Adventure
There is no required route and no need to rush.
Some teams will chase every tag. Others will spend the day exploring scenic trails, enjoying lunch with friends, and collecting a few tags along the way.
Cow Tag isn't a race—it's an adventure.
Ride smart, ride together, and most importantly, have fun.
