Boots on the Ground - Making a Real Impact
Where Advocacy Meets Action - Real Work. Real Impact. Real Trails.
The Trails Preservation Alliance Trail Crew is the heartbeat of our on-the-ground efforts to protect and preserve motorized access on public lands. From clearing downfall and repairing erosion to signing routes and restoring sustainable trail systems, our dedicated crew works tirelessly alongside volunteers, land managers, and local clubs to keep trails open, safe, and responsibly maintained. Every project strengthens not only the trail itself, but the future of access for riders, families, and outdoor enthusiasts who depend on these routes. This is where advocacy turns into action—one shovel, one saw, and one mile at a time.
Each year, the TPA Trail Crew completes 16–18 multi-day hitches across the national forests of Colorado and Utah, putting in long hours and hard work where it matters most. These hitches place the crew deep in the backcountry tackling critical maintenance projects—from clearing storm damage and restoring neglected routes to improving drainage and reinforcing sustainable trail design. By consistently showing up across two states and a wide range of forest systems, the Trail Crew plays a vital role in keeping key motorized routes open, functional, and defensible for future generations of trail users
Great trails don’t build and maintain themselves.
We need YOUR help to keep YOUR riding experience the best experience it can be.
